Of Ash and Steel

Of Ash and Steel

With engaging combat, crafting, and the ability to turn this simple cartographer into a worthy soldier, Of Ash and Steel became an adventure worth taking on. If you like Euro-jank style RPG’s this one is definitely for you.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Despite a somewhat inconsistent story in its execution, Monster Hunter Stories 2 is an engaging adventure with a ton of Monsties to tame, adventures to be had, and a combat system that is just as thrilling as its real-time sibling. Stories is certainly a beast of its own with a fun cast of characters and its own take on the Monster Hunter formula.

Total Chaos

Total Chaos

Total Chaos is a very inconsistent experience that I like far more than I don't, one encounter aside. The atmosphere is incredibly well done with some interesting enemy designs and a fairly engaging combat system that reminded me of Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Dispatch

Dispatch

At the core, Dispatch tells a tale of humanity, togetherness, and teamwork. It does so with immense quality across the board. From beginning to end, right down to a satisfying conclusion that both leaves space for expansion of these characters and the universe, but also works fantastically as a one-off narrative adventure.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment tells the story of Zelda being transported back in time during the early events of Tears of the Kingdom. While we saw glimpses of this story during that adventure, Age of Imprisonment tells the full story across a fantastic campaign.

Strike Force Heroes

Strike Force Heroes

There is a solid shooter here that feels like the perfect marriage of something like Contra meets Smash Bros. With a robust multiplayer suite, a fun campaign, and some decent customization to your soldier, Strike Force Heroes is fun, while it lasts.

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster

While it was somewhat commonplace back then to overlook so many of the original’s issues, it is downright impossible now with the wealth of titles releasing every day. Sacred 2 deserved a much better effort, and this is frankly one of the most disappointing remasters in recent history.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide

SpongeBob and Patrick are back after their adventures in The Cosmic Shake. While the previous adventure’s mechanics and feel are present, Titans of the Tide has a better story, a better camera, and a big focus on the ghostly platforming hijinks of its dynamic duo. It’s more of the same, but that isn’t always a bad thing.

Neon Inferno

Neon Inferno

Neon Inferno, despite its throwaway title, is a throwback to some of the best games of all time. It simply feels great to control, and while two-player can get a bit hectic, given the size of the sprites, it still is a fantastic hour and change to experience, even if the rating economy can hold back some of the additional weaponry you can bring into combat.

Laundry Store Simulator

Laundry Store Simulator

As you are granted a massive loan to open the Laundry Store of your dreams, you suddenly realize that it isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. Building the perfect shop, managing your clients, and dealing with the oddities that come out of the woodwork, Laundry Store Simulator is loads of fun.

ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders is a PvPvE Extraction shooter where Humanity has been driven underground by robotic threats. And while those threats are smart, agile, and cunning, the biggest threat to Humanity just might be itself.

Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking Beard

Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking Beard

Based upon the Netflix films, Chickenhare and his pals attempted to track down a jeweled feather and its gemstones from the grip of Spiking Beard, a pirate hedgehog. While the console and PC ports are visually more appealing, the Switch version is absolutely painful.

The Outer Worlds 2

The Outer Worlds 2

Obsidian is back with another installment of The Outer Worlds. As rifts begin to appear in the Arcadia Star System, you’ll work against or with different factions to save the galaxy. With deeper gameplay and progression systems, The Outer Worlds 2 is a step above its predecessor, but its companions are just downright boring.

Football Manager 26

Football Manager 26

Football Manager 2026 arrives with big expectations. After years of incremental updates, the promise of a new engine and a broader, more inclusive football world had fans excited for a real leap forward. The result is a game that feels ambitious and polished in some areas but still rough around the edges in others.

Silent Hill f

Silent Hill f

I was not sure what to initially expect with Silent Hill f. It had no noticeable connection to the titular town, nor did it even take place in the same country and time period. The biggest question on my mind, as was the same with many other fans of the franchise, was Silent Hill f… Silent Hill?

Hot Wheels Let's Race: Ultimate Speed

Hot Wheels Let's Race: Ultimate Speed

With four player co-op, a competent track builder, and a great feel to its gameplay, Hot Wheels Let's Race Ultimate Speed is a solid racer with a “Kart Racer” feel. Fans of the show, or the genre in general, will find a lot to like here.

Fast and Furious Arcade Racing

Fast and Furious Arcade Racing

Fast and Furious Arcade Edition is a straight port of the 2022 Arcade Classic. It feels great to play, has superb arcade visuals, and a solid sense of speed. However, the Fast and Furious branding and ties to the license is simply wasted.

Painkiller

Painkiller

Painkiller 2025 is a reimaging of the original game, albeit with very little connective tissue. While the story, characters, and endgame all fall flat, the core gameplay is a wild ride, even if the inspiration from Doom 2016 goes a little too far and causes the game to lose much of its identity.

Bye Sweet Carole

Bye Sweet Carole

Bye Sweet Carole has all the hallmarks of classic adventure games and the countless point and click games of the past. It handles horror in such a unique way due to its Disney-like presentation, and frankly, the whole experience feels like a truly interactive animated film.

Just Dance 2026

Just Dance 2026

Just Dance is back, sort of. As Just Dance has continued its life as a live service game, it is back for its yearly installment with 40 new songs and a new party mode. While the Party mode has some nice ideas, its collection of songs this year is a pretty big miss.
