Warhammer Skulls event brings reveals, trailers, and brand new demos!

Warhammer Skulls 2026 was today, and several announcements were made. So, without further delay, here is what was shown off, announced, and what you can play today.

Warhammer Survivors

Thrust into a universe of relentless war, become the embodiment of bullet hell in Warhammer Survivors, a fast-paced roguelite survivors game. Play as characters from the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar universes, collect and evolve iconic weapons and destroy endless swarms of enemies.

As part of the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, Auroch Digital announces that Warhammer Survivors, the fast-paced roguelite survivors game, is coming to mobile, launching later in 2026 on Apple iOS and the Google Play Store in addition to Steam, GOG, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. A new Steam demo is available to play right now.

In the latest trailer, Warhammer Survivors’ playable universes (Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar) are consumed by the forces of Chaos in the form of two newly revealed enemy factions: the disgustingly resilient Death Guard and the bloodthirsty and savage Blades of Khorne. Fortunately, a host of new champions are ready to stand against them!

In the Age of Sigmar universe, Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos and the saviours of Cinderfall, Callis and Toll, defend Hammerhal, a city straddling two realms. Via the central Stormrift Realmgate, players will be able to traverse between the two vastly different biomes, facing both the Blades of Khorne and Skaven in two stages in one!

Bastian wields the mighty Uskavar the Sunderer, which strikes the ground, sending out waves of crackling thunderbolts. Whereas Callis and Toll unleash barrages of bullets which ricochet off the terrain and enemies in wondrous displays of carnage and prowess.

One of Warhammer Survivors’ extremis bosses, a Great Unclean One, reveals his feculent form in the Gallowdark stage. There, an Arbites Vigilant stalks the buckled corridors, blasting away the Death Guard with a close-range combat shotgun, but he’ll need some hefty firepower (and allies) to take on the greater daemon.

Saint Celestine, a revered Sister of Battle believed to have been resurrected from death many times over, arrives to the rescue, wielding the revered Weapon of the Matriarch, cleaving throngs of daemons with blessed light.

Fight amongst the Warhammer paint pots and cutting mats of the Hobby Table stage, where players fight a mixture of enemy factions, all while weaving through items that could appear on anyone’s hobby desk.

Look closely, and you may even spot Space Marine 2’s Titus… and who could forget the rather sweet ferocious cyber-mastiff, K9?

The Warhammer Survivors demo is available now on Steam. Command Malum Caedo as he defends the wastelands of an Imperial Bastion from swarms of Tyranids, whilst Neave Blacktalon, the legendary Stormcast Eternal warrior, slays Skaven across the ashen plains of The Great Parch.

Warhammer Survivors is coming later in 2026. Wishlist now.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster

Execute your enemies in a grand journey to join the ranks of the world’s deadliest assassins in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, a new self-contained, single player 2D action platformer from developer Old Skull Games and publisher Dotemu (Absolum, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion). A fresh, ambitious take on the globally beloved Warhammer franchise inspired by the greatest 2D action platformer and stealth-enriched classics, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster was revealed in a striking announcement trailer at today’s Warhammer Skulls event, launching on PC and consoles in 2027.

Embark on a dark tale of treachery as the hooded Ratman Vihneek, an ambitious killer devoted to ascending to the top of his shadowy Eshin clan at all costs. Vihneek's sinister masters demand unwavering loyalty, but a Skaven's ambition knows no limits, even when scheming on the precipice of doom. Vihneek's story is anchored in the rich lore of the Age of Sigmar, where the Skaven have erupted to seize the Mortal Realms for themselves.

Set traps, exploit your surroundings and outwit enemies as you ruthlessly carve your fate through the darkest corners of the Skaven world. Slink past threats undetected while devising cunning plans, savagely slaughtering any Skaven who foolishly stands in your way, from cowering dregs to towering rat ogors.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster’s gritty, atmospheric environments are beautifully twisted with relentless decay, accented with shadows and dark spaces prime for Vihneek to sneak through – and strike from. A richly detailed art style evokes suspense and thrilling tension while delivering a unique, unsettling vision of a Skaven world teeming with secrets that should never be unearthed.

During the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, Deep Silver and KING Art Games revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will launch on Sept. 17, with Commander Edition players able to play early from Sept. 14:

Standard and Commander Editions

Two war-packs have been sanctioned for deployment; now available for pre-order.

Year One Expansion Overview

One planet. Endless war. On Kronus, the war does not end with a single campaign. Over time, the conflict deepens. Following launch, a year of free content updates and paid DLC will expand the battlefield.

Free Deployments

Arriving in Fall 2026, the fan-favorite Crusade Mode returns. Every decision and victory shapes the course of war, bringing even greater strategic depth and replayability to the campaign. Build your army, lead legendary commanders, and fight to dominate the map.

A series of free updates will introduce new modes, map packs, and the Mission Editor — allowing players to create, play, and share their own battles with friends.

Additional Commanders will also join Last Stand mode, each featuring new abilities, loadouts, and playstyles. These Commanders will bring their own bespoke Crusades, complete with unique objectives and gameplay twists.

Paid Operations

Two major campaign expansions will deepen the conflict on Kronus in Year One.

  • The Blood Ravens Story Prologue: Before war engulfs Kronus, a Blood Ravens strike force returns to their ancestral homeworld of Aurelia. Guided by a legendary commander, their mission sets in motion events that will shape the fate of the Chapter. Fight through pivotal battles ignited by ancient relics.

  • The Aftermath Campaign Expansion: Players will command a powerful new faction as the war enters its next chapter. Aftermath continues the main campaign’s story in a narrative-driven expansion that explores the consequences of your victories — and the new threats set to reshape the battlefield.

  • Adds a fifth faction to the game across all game modes

  • New playable Commanders

  • Expands the Crusade mode significantly

  • Thought the war was over? It has only begun

Both expansions will be available separately. However, commanders who deploy with the Commander Edition will receive both paid operations as part of their war bundle.

The war for Kronus begins on Sept. 17.
