The game Hell is Us is coming to life in a free digital comic book, available starting today on nacongaming.com. Resulting from the collaboration between publisher NACON, its Quebec studio Rogue Factor and Dead Good Comics, the 16-page book tie-in prequel to the adventure of the main protagonist, Remi. Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game combining melee combat, exploration and a captivating storyline, due for release on 4 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). The title will also be available as a demo on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and for the first time ever on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S from 12 to 28 August 2025.
In this digital comic book, players get to discover the events occurring right before the beginning of the game and that led Remi to abandon his post as a peacekeeper to infiltrate Hadea, the fictional country he was born in and smuggled out of when he was a child. This isolated nation is ravaged by a dreadful civil war and is suffering from a mysterious calamity causing strange and dangerous creatures to appear, reminiscent of ancient headstones and monuments in the region. Armed with weapons specially forged to fight these monsters, Rémi must learn how to defeat them and use his equipment wisely.
Crafted in collaboration with Dead Good Comics, the comic book features artwork by Andrea Scalmazzi (Dune: House Corrino, Samuel Stern) and Antonio Antro (Lego Batman Magazine, Power Rangers), and is based on a story by Stu Taylor (Crusader Kings III: Many Roads to Power, Octobriana and the Underground, Warhammer Monthly), under the supervision of Hell is Us Creative and Art Director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête.
