Kingsman: The Secret Service, was a standout film. It was cheeky, humorous, and action-packed, despite an eye-roller of a scene with the captive Swedish Princess during the finale of the film. Matthew Vaughn is back in the Director's (and writer's) chair and delivers a mostly painful sequel.

Black Widow

Black Widow certainly has some exciting action scenes, and some laugh-out-loud moments, not to mention some wonderfully staged explosions and chase scenes, but its execution on its villains is where the movie just simply falls flat.

Star Wars: Episode IX - Rise of Skywalker

While The Last Jedi wasn’t an absolute failure, it seemed to have caused a great deal of course-correcting when Rise of Skywalker, the finale of the trilogy, had started pre-production. Even leading up to the release of the film, it was made very clear that Rian Johnson made a few calls in his film that threatened the overall plot going into this ninth and final film.

Hobbs and Shaw

Hobbs and Shaw, a spin-off of the Fast and Furious films, places the unlikely duo of the titular characters directly in the path of a chemical virus, doomed to destroy the world. It’s fun, its cheesy, and while some of its jokes either fall flat or go on for too long, it’s still a vastly entertaining film from start to finish.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Much of the early marketing given to Spider-Man: Far from home told us two things; Spider-Man would survive the events of Avenger’s Endgame, and that Mysterio would play a large part in the events surrounding the film. Later on, closer to its release, and of course, after Endgame had hit theaters, we found out that the death of Tony Stark would shake Peter’s world to its core.

Avenger's Endgame

Avenger’s Endgame is the 22nd film in a series that all started with 2008’s Iron Man. It is the culmination of a story weaved through many films central plots and merely danced upon in others. It’s a story that gets wrapped up almost perfectly in a way that will make you cheer, make you cry, and make you wonder about the future of the MCU.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse

While the story here differs a little from how it actually went down, it takes the key moments of his story and ties them into the dimension hopping hi-jinks of the Spider-Verse storyline, only with far less death and a much smaller cast.

Aquaman

While the film is immensely entertaining, especially for a character that is often the joke of the DC Universe, the acclaimed horror director strikes a fun balance of action, humor, and gives the character some much needed toughness and grit that translates to a more engaging character overall.

Venom

Sony chose to release Venom as a PG-13 rating, and the cuts required to do so are not only apparent in the film, but much of the tone required to make the film work is just not there. Venom is one of the worst superhero films in the last few years.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

As history tends to repeat itself, Ant-man and Wasp, like its predecessor, releases just a few short months after a major Avengers film. While the story itself takes place before Thanos and the Avengers went toe to toe, I still strongly recommend watching Avenger's: Infinity War before you take in this fun-filled and very enjoyable sequel.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic Park was a franchise that was destined to be popular. The technology to create that movie and the subsequent sequels that followed, allowed the child in all of us to be wowed by their realistic Dinosaurs and the worlds they would inhabit.

Deadpool 2

It's hard to imagine that the original Deadpool almost didn't happen. Its test footage "leak" was the catalyst to having Fox, who owns the movie rights to the character, finally knowing exactly what they had.

Avengers - Infinity War

Depending on your point of view, Infinity War will either live up to the hype or not quite hold up to your expectations. While the film has been somewhat divisive among its fan base, it still stands as one of the best received MCU films to date.

Ready Player One

Ready Player One, is at its core, a celebration of pop culture. Whether it's movies, cartoons, video games, or old candy commercials, there is very little that escapes at least some sort of mention or visual cue during the 2 hour and 19 minute film.

Tomb Raider

During the entire build-up to Director Roar Uthaug's film reboot of Tomb Raider, many fans had brought up the original Angelina Jolie pair of films as a comparison, assuming those movies, on some level, served as a baseline of quality for future said comparisons.

Black Panther

We were given a small glimpse into the world of Black Panther during Captain America: Civil War just a few short years ago. While the character joined the cast in a small but effective supporting role, much occurred to lay the groundwork for his own feature film.
