Nintendo Direct - Sept 2022

While rumored for quite some time, as well as what titles would potentially be set to appear, Nintendo held their main Direct to show off a stellar line-up of upcoming titles from a variety of first-party and third-party developers. So, let’s take a look at what was released.

Fire Emblem: Engage

While the title doesn’t look to set the world on fire, Fire Emblem: Engage is the latest main entry in the long-running series. As it’s been rumored to be fully completed and simply waiting to be released, we are likely going to see a full Direct built upon it in much the same way Nintendo did for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The title looks to see a wholly new character be able to summon past Fire Emblem heroes during their adventure. Check out the trailer below!

Octopath Traveler II

A surprise sequel to the popular new series, Octopath Traveler sees you controlling a new set of heroes once again. Check out the trailer below!

Pikmin 4

Yup, they finally announced another Pikmin game. While most of the feature was around their mobile game, Pikmin Bloom, Myamoto himself, in a Pikmin shirt no less, announced the newest entry with a tease of gameplay footage.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The long-awaited name of the latest entry is here. Tears of the Kingdom will release on May 12th, 2023. While only a brief amount of footage was shown, there were plenty of clues shown off that has Youtubers going crazy. Check out the trailer below!

As for many of the other releases, here is a selection of trailers to show off such titles as It Takes, Two, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Fae Farm, the latest Just Dance, and more details on the future of Xenoblade Chronicles, Switch Sports, Splatoon 3, and more!
